7 Tips to Plan Your Camping Trip at Complexe Atlantide

The name says it, the complex Atlantide of Saint-Calixte, in Lanaudière, is a large park which offers all the services you can expect from a campsite with 700 travelers sites. The activities and facilities are endless. The resort is only 45 minutes from Montreal, making it an ideal destination for a weekend getaway. In order to plan and enjoy your stay, here are some tips I would have liked to know before planning my getaway.

1. Check the schedule of shows before choosing the dates of your stay.

Complex Atlantide offers a surprising program of outdoor shows. During our visit we had the chance to see Marc Dupré accompanied by Jérôme Couture. If you plan to stay in Atlantis you can take advantage being there when one of your favorite artists performs.

2. Bring the bikes for the whole family

The complex is big! Walking does not scare me but here we calculate distances in km between attractions. Cycling will save you a lot of time.

3. Make the most of your last day

If you have opted for the package including access to recreational facilities, you will certainly want to take full advantage of it. Be aware that if your campsite is not occupied to another camper the day of your departure, you can leave your equipment for the day and free of charge. Ask the reception when you arrive.

4. Choose the right campsite

Be prepared for sites that offer very little privacy. Do not be surprised! The mission of this campgrounf is not to offer you an immersive experience in the countryside. Your neighbors will be close! The new section inaugurated in 2018, near the wave pool, offers in my opinion the most interesting sites by their size. On the other hand, for those who like to camp in a group, you will find on Hercule Street (368 to 413) two service sites offering the possibility to install two trailers on the same ground.

5. Choose the right package

There are 3 types of camping packages for Atlantide and they’re based on 2 nights for a family of 2 adults and two children.

The basic package (camping only) will allow you to access the beach, the pool and the mini-farm as well as the shows and fireworks. ($ 80.00 to $ 120.00 + tx).

The intermediate package gives you access to inflatable games, water slides, wave pool and small tube river. ($ 195.00 to $ 235.00 + tx).

The third package gives you access to all of the above, the magic castle, the aerial course and the inflatable water slides. ($ 256.00 to $ 296.00 + tx).

The famous haunted house is not included in the camping packages and you can visit it for $ 15.66 + tx per person.

If you have not decided which package is right for you, you can add it on the spot without any problem.

6. You can make your guest save $$$

If you’re planning to welcome guests and they would like to enjoy the recreational facilities, please note that Groupon offers attractive daily packages. This package is not advantageous for campers staying in Atlantis.

7. Renting a golf cart to get around is not a bad idea but beware!

I’m not a fan of carts on campsites but I must say that it was very convenient to carry our bunch. The number of rental carts is limited and they’re very popular. Reservations are technically impossible. However, if you prepay $ 80 for a 24 hour rental, you can get a cart when there’s a return. Warning! Your 24 hours start when you pay even if you do not have the cart in your possession … We paid Friday at 17:00 pm and got our cart the next day at 10:00 am. So we paid $ 80 for 7 hours of rental. I let you make your own opinion about this practice!
