I’ve been going to the Brownsburg Chatham Municipal Campground for a few years. We love to visit this campground outside of the summer season. At the beginning of June or at the end of September, most campsites close their facilities so we adapt our program. Cycling, fishing and a little tourism are on the list.
The Brownsburg Chatham Municipal Campground in the Laurentians, offers more than 247 sites, with and without services and is located 70 km from Montreal. The campsite will not dazzle you with its facilities that are modest but impeccable. No pool, no farm, no train for children! We go there to relax. Here, the campsites are big. We’re not stacked one on the other. If you’re lucky you may have a site on the Outaouais river.
The region is a popular destination for cyclists. Consult the VéloRoute d’Argenteuil map to discover the points of interest near the campsite and along this beautiful bike path located 2 minutes from the campground. Do not miss the Belvedere at the Carillon hydroelectric power station. It’s possible to visit the station for free from May to August. For information, go to the Hydro-Québec website.
Bring your fishing rods because yellow perch, bass and pike are sometimes at the rendezvous from the dock.
The Brownsburg Chatham Municipal Campground is one of my favorite camping. For me, it is an ideal place to visit in spring or fall. The only downside for us is that animals are not allowed. Since we now have a new member in our family, we risk not going there anymore. So please go and come and write me to tell me about your experience!
